I know from personal experiences that traditional management practice and 'bolt-on' change initiatives are generally ineffective in delivering sustainable benefit as flexibility, alignment, consensus and balance are crucial to achieving breakthrough for sustainability.

With the recent seismic shift in banking policies and the fundamental lessons of the recent credit turmoil, traditional methodologies are now rapidly becoming defunct as business is challenged to become ever more efficient and effective in all they do. Even without these pressure cauldron factors, every business experiences growth and consolidation cycles which forces change.

With the BALANCE SHEET debased as a value determinant, getting beyond the P&L and identifying then managing the real creators and drivers of value is vital for building enterprise sustainability. Leading the change associated with such engagement is a key objective for the leadership team.
